Your pet is waiting for you in the City

Your pet is waiting for you in the City

The developers are working on the pet store now, and there are already some of the cutest darn pets to accompany you around the city.

You can choose their name and the style of head, ears, tail, color and body…certainly, there are some advantages in choosing virtual pets.

When you purchase your new furry friend, they will be waiting for you at your apartment when you arrive home…like they have always been there…whoof.

The Little House of Horrors running at Siamese Theater

The Little House of Horrors running at Siamese Theater

Our developers now have movies running at the Siamese Theater in the City of Sinners and Saints. Our first movie is The Little House of Horrors. It comes with the flickering and all. And how many theaters can you stroll up to the projection room and check out the movie from there.

You can look forward to seeing all your favorite B movies when our virtual world launches.

beta-73

Last week, we had our first beta test, and it was good to get some feedback from people other than ourselves. It was informative to see where people were hanging out in the city and what they were doing.

From the time they sat down, there were all engrossed in exploring the world. I gave some verbal instructions on the HUD, but I am not sure they were listening.  After two hours, when the beta test was over, many were still hanging out in the world. I think the last left about two hours after that. We were encouraged by the interest. We asked for feedback, and the comments are coming in this week. Here are some things they liked so far:

  • Interaction with other players
  • Animotes were the best they has seen in any MMO
  • Shopping cart when purchasing virtual goods
  • Shops and menu system for purchasing
  • Arcade games
  • Combining the inbox with friends menu

There were also some very good ideas on improvements we can make to the world, and they have been passed on to the team.  We will definitely be offering more opportunities for people to test our game leading up to the launch and ensuring a good feedback system after it is launched.

officeIt’s exciting to see this game come to fruition. For over a year now, I’ve witnessed its development from a notion to a fully realized world. The development team has evolved. The style has evolved. The city has evolved. So many people have gone above and beyond to bring personality and life to this project. They say the devil is in the details, and in the City of Sinners and Saints, the details are in the devil, and angel for that matter.

With everyone at Telos putting their ideas and vision into it, the city is taking on a form of its own. From the designs of the buildings and streets, to the humor on the signs, posters and in the NPC’s dialogue, the game is riddled with details that culminate into an authentic, fun experience. I can’t wait to see how it further evolves and grows when it is released unto the world.

petstoreThe stage is being set. It’s a colorful stage. It’s an animated stage. It’s a charming, dynamic stage, and it’s a stage that is eagerly anticipating players. Like any city, the people who populate it will ultimately define its personality.

gdc_canada2Thanks to all in San Francisco! The GDC was a blast in its productivity and also socially. First off, thank you for all the great feedback! We had a fantastic response to The City of Sinners and Saints, capped by an upcoming feature on electric playground. We will let you know before it airs so you can check it out. The positive reaction to the City was cool and welcomed amid all the exciting titles and new tech being promoted. Aside from the continuous stream of meetings and presentations, we did manage to sneak off to a couple of the more celebratory events. Good times. Now we are back to work, following up and focusing on the upcoming release.

Thanks again

Off to the GDC!

gdcheader1

So, the marketing and executive departments are preparing for an exciting week in San Francisco. The upcoming conference is the comicon for game developers. It’s a grand meet’n'greet for everyone and anyone involved in the gaming industry. Our team’s presentation has been honed and everyone is excited to see the response. Initial feedback about the game has been very positive, and we want this momentum to continue.

We will be offering a walk through presentation at booth 5120, North Hall, Moscone Center.

While it will be hard for any title to compete with the major company debuts, we at City of Sinners and Saints are confident our game is unique enough to stand out in its category. Luckily we’re not trying to impress people with the best gore and explosions!

See (some of) you there!

Telos International, a video game developer, has released the trailer for their new virtual, comedic, cartoon world called City of Sinners & Saints.

City of Sinners and Saints is a world where visitors can network with friends, play casual games and shop for their favorite products. The virtual world is due to be launched in June 2009.

“The City is targeted to the next generation of virtual world travelers that is looking for an entertaining experience beyond social networking which encompasses some of their favorite pastimes on the internet,” says Sean Yeomans, President, Telos International.

“We will attract an audience that enjoys a world created for them with rich content of cartoonish graphics, a comedic story line, casual games and quests rather than creating their own user-generated content,” Yeoman adds.

The world will feature a chat system that offers animated responses that will add fun to the casual game play and interaction.

When the game launches, there will be 50 quests that have been written by sketch comedy writers. Titles include Harry’s House of Scary, Bird Turf War, Meat Market Research and Happy Hoboing. The quests are designed for players to earn virtual gold and goods to upgrade their status and accommodations and access the latest in virtual fashion. There will be almost 500 custom virtual goods generated by launch date. Quests, clothing, models and features will continue to be added to the City to keep it an entertaining place to return and socialize with friends.

In the City of Sinners & Saints, the world is virtual, but the laughs will be real.
